Ventura County Board of Supervisors
In following up as to my public comments of June 4th 2024. I assert that the flagpole at the County Govt Center is NOT a traditional Public Forum, and I am to understand that is also the position of the County.
As it is not a Public Forum then the County may not provide preferential treatment to preferred groups or individuals or preferred messages. This was ruled on by the SCOTUS as I informed you of yesterday’s case of Shurtleff v. Boston. If you follow through on flying the Queer or ‘Pride” Flag as was stated, a violation of our Civil Rights; then, as I stated yesterday, expect litigation against both the County and anyone who facilitated this violation of our Civil Rights as individuals.
If the flagpole is a public forum, please complete my publicly stated request to fly 119 flags of my choosing for the same period that you propose to fly the Queer or Pride flag, that being one month. Please inform me where I can deliver the first of these flags for their flying.
